Where to source amendments

From your local farm supply store:
  • Ag lime
  • Dolomite lime
  • Gypsum
  • Soft rock phosphate
  • Bone meal
  • Magnesium sulfate (Epsom salts) Small quantities are at the drug store in the laxative aisle
  • Potassium sulfate
  • Sul-Po-Mag (K-Mag or Langbienite)
  • Ag sulfur
  • Feather meal (may be listed as a feed, or available at the feed store instead)
  • Soybean meal (may be listed as a feed, or available at the feed store instead)
  • Kelp

If you have a small area you may be able to find smaller quantities at your local garden supply store.

From Alpha Chemicals

The sulfates are available online from Alpha Chemicals. These include:

  • Iron sulfate
  • Manganese sulfate
  • Zinc sulfate
  • Cobalt sulfate
  • Sodium molybdate dihydrate

 

From the grocery store

In the laundry products aisle:

  • Borax

Where to find minerals in Canada:

  • Local feed stores. Buckerfields is one of them.  Also a commercial outfit called Evergrow in Victoria. Also Integrity Sales in Victoria. There are some stores out here on the West Coast that are more organically oriented and have a better selection (Borden Mercantile in Victoria, for instance). Many of these stores are able to source special products
